Carrie Love (she/her),
M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counselor
I believe each person already holds the strengths and abilities needed to move toward the changes they seek, and my role is to support, affirm, and honor that process.
My name is Carrie Love (she/her), and I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in 2025. Through rigorous training and work with clients from diverse backgrounds, my passion for therapy has continued to blossom as I witness and honor my clients’ strengths and personal achievements. Within the therapeutic relationship, I view myself as a compassionate passenger alongside my clients while they remain in the driver’s seat. I believe each person already holds the strengths and abilities needed to move toward the changes they seek, and my role is to support, affirm, and honor that process. In my free time, I enjoy taking on creative projects, occasionally painting, exploring different cuisines, and researching the mind–body connection.
-
I work with children, adolescents (ages 5–18), adults, and elders, with specialized training in child and adolescent counseling and play therapy. My work is grounded in a culturally responsive, trauma-informed lens that recognizes how systemic oppression, generational trauma, and social inequities shape mental and physical health. I also have a strong clinical and research interest in the mind–body connection, particularly how trauma impacts chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, and learning. I integrate somatic and holistic approaches to support healing that honors self-determination, cultural identity, and each client’s lived experience.
-
I take a holistic, integrative, and client-centered approach grounded in cultural awareness and humility. I draw from CBT, ACT, mindfulness practices, trauma-informed CBT, and somatic work to support the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. Above all, I aim to show up with authenticity, presence, and care, honoring each client’s unique path and pace in the healing process. -
