Provisionally licensed (also known as associate-licensed) therapists hold a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. They are licensed to practice therapy in Georgia and are under the direction supervision of a fully-licensed therapist who they consult with regularly.
Provisionally-licensed therapists are required to see clients in this way for a certain number of hours (usually around 3,000 hours in no less than 3 years) prior to becoming fully licensed to practice therapy in Georgia.
We accept curriculum vitae year-round from associate-licensed therapists who wish to apply.
-
Therapists-in-training, or Intern-Level Therapists, are graduate students currently attending a CACREP accredited university. We accept therapists-in-training who are in their final year of a Masters in Counseling program.
As part of their education and training, these students are required to enroll in an internship class that involves counseling individuals, couples/families, and groups in order to practice the skills they are learning. Their work is supervised by their university supervisor and site supervisor.
Counseling sessions with you help them meet the requirements for this class, which ends when they graduate. Upon graduation, therapists-in-training apply for their associate level license and become promoted to provisionally licensed therapists. Apply for an internship position.
