Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the life you want to be living?

Maybe you’re dealing with stress, relationship challenges, or the effects of past experiences. You may know something needs to change but don’t know where to begin.

Whatever brings you to therapy, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Before our first session, I offer free phone consultations to make sure I’m a good fit for your counseling needs. My rate is $150 for 50 minute counseling sessions. I also have an income based sliding scale available upon request. While I am not in network with any insurance panels, I do accept HSA Cards and I will provide all of the necessary documentation for out-of-network insurance claims submissions. Please check with your insurance provider for your reimbursement policy when working with an out of network provider.

My name is Aileen Charles (she/her), and I am an Associate Professional Counselor. I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Agnes Scott College. I work with adults and older adolescents experiencing trauma, anxiety, life transitions, identity concerns, relationship difficulties, and struggles with self-worth. When I’m not in the therapy room, you can often find me taking walks, spending time with loved ones, tending to my plants, or unwinding with a good true crime show.

I understand how messages about strength and survival can make it hard to ask for help or acknowledge pain. Therapy can be a place to set those expectations down, speak honestly about your experiences, and be met with compassion instead of judgment.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients understand unhelpful patterns, build coping skills, and move toward the life they want to create. I take a holistic view of healing that honors the connection between mind and body and recognizes the impact of culture, relationships, and the systems we live within. Together, we’ll deepen your self-understanding and help you make choices that align with your values.

I believe healing happens through connection. My hope is that our work together gives you space to slow down, make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move through life with greater intention.

If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to support you as you move toward healing and a deeper connection with yourself.
